There was an interesting article in today’s New York Times about how the US will be stepping up deportations in the coming months against Central Americans. US officials are fearful that their may be a rise in unlawful entries based on the swell they saw last summer.  The main focus of this enforcement will be aimed at Central Americans who entered after January 1, 2014 and subsequently had their asylum claims denied.  The New York Times article is an expansion of a story first broke by Reuters last week.  The article does a very nice job discussing how presidential politics has entered into this year’s debate.
